Davina De Beer Biography
Davina de Beer (b. 1982) is a South African artist currently residing in Seville, Spain. She obtained her Master’s degree in Fine Art in 2008 from the University of the Free State, after which she relocated to Oman in the Middle East. In Oman, she taught Art & Design to students of all ages and presented two solo exhibitions: Echo at Gallery 76 in Dubai, UAE, in 2011, and Encoding the Landscape in Muscat, Oman, in 2020.
Throughout her time in the Middle East, De Beer remained active in the South African art scene, with her work being selected for the SASOL New Signatures in 2008 and 2010, and the ABSA L’Atelier in 2008. She also participated in numerous group exhibitions in Muscat and showcased her work at international art fairs in Oman and Monaco.
In 2022, De Beer moved to Spain, where she took part in the Lacuna Art Festivals in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, in 2021 and 2022. In March 2024, she was a finalist in the Arte Aparte Art Competition in La Carolina, Spain, and in June, she was selected for the group show The Outsiders Vol. I at Galeria Zunino in Seville, Spain.
